1. What are Status Codes and why do they exist?
The 4-digit numbers you see when something isn’t quite right with Alfred are what we call Status Codes. Status Codes have been implemented to help both you and us pinpoint the potential cause of the problem. When you see a Status Code in Alfred, don’t dismiss it too soon! For example, so many factors could result in connectivity issues. The Status Codes provide invaluable information that allows us to narrow it down.
2. Common Status Codes & solutions
Here are some of the most commonly-seen Status Codes as well as quick debugging advice from us:
- 5012, 5019, 5020, 5021, 5022
- 6001, 6002, 6004, 6006
- 7001, 7002, 7003, 7006, 7008
3. Ask for further assistance
If the Status Code you see is not on the list, or if the debugging process doesn’t work, please run a search at Alfred Center to see if anyone else has encountered this problem before and if a solution has been found.
