There is a Problem Parsing the Package

#1

It would be really helpful if you’d provide the following information so our engineer colleagues can identify and solve your problem sooner.

Which device has the problem? Camera
Device Model Name: Samsung Galaxy ACE
OS Version: Android 2.3

Hi,

I’m trying to update the app on the phone that I use as camera. It has CyanogenMod 7 without GoogleApps and I need to update it manually. I download the apk file ant transfer it to the phone but when I try to install it, it gives me “There is a Problem Parsing the Package” error. I have enabled the “Installation from Unknown Sources” option but it doesn’t help.

Can you give me some advice on the problem?

Regards.

Hi @ivan.ivanovski,

Thank you so much for reaching out!

We cannot guarantee apk files downloaded from unknown sources will work. It sounds like the one you got is corrupted.

However, I do have great news! We are going to provide an official download link for the latest version of Alfred to users whose Camera devices can’t store both Google Play Store and Alfred anymore. Please stay tuned. I’ll make sure the engineers make that happen in a few days the latest.

Hey @ivan.ivanovski,

Hi,

thank you very much, I was just preparing to ask for the apk file.

I installed this version, but it still asks for update on the camera app. Is there newer version?

Best Regards.

Hi @ivan.ivanovski,

Thanks for the reply!

Oh this is strange, because it IS the latest version available (1458 for devices running 4.1 and up, 1456 for below). It might be helpful if you could show me a screenshot of the message you see. I’ll figure it out for you!

Hi,

sorry for late reply, after I restarted the app everything is ok.

Thank you again for the support.

Sorry, I had Android 2.x. I just upgraded to Android 4.0.4 on this phone, I can install Alfred and use it, however there seem to be some issues.

Changied settings on the camera through webviewer isnt saved for some reason.

Activating smart notificaion and when I leave my home Alfred only activates motion detection for my two other cameras, running v 1458. This phone seem to be using version 1456.

Are there any known issues with version 1456, or Android 4.x?
