In the US, <strong>24 states <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.upcounsel.com\/audio-surveillance-laws-by-state\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>outlaw the use of hidden cameras<\/strong><\/a><strong> in private places.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>38 states, including New York and Texas, follow the <strong>\u2018one-party consent\u2019 rule which allows for conversations to be recorded with only one party\u2019s consent, <\/strong>without telling the other party to the conversation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That means the person choosing to record can do so without another person\u2019s permission so long as they themselves are in the conversation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background\" style=\"background-color:#faeee3\"><strong>Can you get security cameras without audio?<\/strong><br><br>Traditional CCTV doesn\u2019t natively support audio, since audio can\u2019t be transmitted using ordinary coaxial cables.
